At Palmdale United Methodist Church, we believe that...

  • We are "inspired by Jesus to love!"

OUR DISCIPLESHIP PLAN

What does it mean to follow Jesus at Palmdale UMC?  Our Discipleship Plan is a guideline to help us continue to grow as we are 'inspired by Jesus to love.'

  • WORSHIP - Worshipping God is the center of the life of our church.  We seek to offer a vibrant, relevant, consistent worship experiences throughout the month.  We want worship to be something you can readily invite others to experience with you!
  • SPIRITUAL GROWTH - We are called to grow deeper in faith through personal and group study, in addition to regular worship.  At PUMC, we regularly have Bible Studies, Scripture Journaling, Life Groups, and other opportunities to join with others in drawing closer to God.
  • RELATIONSHIPS - Christianity is not a 'solo sport.'  We were created to be in relationship with each other.  We draw closer to God when we also draw closer to one another.  PUMC provides choirs, men's & women's ministries, young adult group, youth group, and senior ministries, to name a few.  We need each other!
  • MISSIONS/SERVICE/JUSTICE - Jesus calls his followers to give themselves away in love for others.  At PUMC we take this seriously.  We reach out into the Antelope Valley community in service (including a monthly feeding program for the homeless), supporting local agencies (like Valley Oasis women's shelter), and participating in international projects (like helping bring clean water to a community in Mexico).  We encourage everyone to get involved in whatever programs and non-profits they feel passionate about!

What do UNITED methodists believe?

The mission of The United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.  United Methodists affirm the faith shared by all Christians, with particular emphasis on God's grace and on Christian living.  The UMC believes God's love for the world is an active & engaged love that seeks justice & liberty.  We have a set of Social Principles that help guide our action in the world.
